COMPANY

Mixware, LLC was founded in 2008 by Gerard and Laurent Cohen, founders of the Stanton Group. Mixware recently acquired Electrix and is hard at work re-launching the brand. The first two products to emerge will be the Ebox-44 audio interface and Tweaker MIDI controller. Mixware is also the U.S. distributor for several unique brands including Reloop, UDG, Decksaver, and Magma.

Gerard Cohen has a long history in the audio and lighting industries, successfully launching and re-establishing brands that have gone on to become industry standards. In the early 80’s, he co-founded Martin Professional Lighting and ran its US operations until the mid 90’s.

Gerard became the Vestax distributor at the peak of the US DJ scene and, in 1998, he acquired cartridge manufacturer Stanton Magnetics. With Laurent heading the R&D department, they launched a full line of equipment including mixers, CD players, turntables, and Final Scratch. In 2001, he formed the Stanton Group following the acquisitions of KRK and Cerwin Vega.

Laurent, a musician and creative artist, was responsible for the concept development of most major products released by Stanton in the early 2000’s, including the SK-2, Focus Fader, SA-12 DJ Craze mixer, Final Scratch 1.5 (including NI Traktor FS software), DJ Pro-3000, and more. Laurent is also an accomplished music producer with credits including Nelly, Sean Paul, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida and more.
